Devon schools' art work on display at Exeter Cathedral

This exhibition ‘Heaven in Devon’ is celebrating 1,100 years of Christianity in Devon.
Over 80 schools from across Devon will be contributing pieces of art to the exhibition to help to raise money for education activities across the world. It features over 200 canvas paintings, eight 10-metre long fabric banners based on designs from over 150 pupils and numerous life-sized human figure sculptures which include full-sized versions of The Last Supper and The Nativity.
Similar exhibitions organised by Devon Education Services, now part of Devon County Council's Learning and Development Partnership, have raised over £14,000 for schools in Africa, Sri Lanka and India in the last three year.

The exhibition is open Tuesday 2 June to Friday 5 June, 10.30am – 4.30 pm, and Saturday 6 June 10.30 am - 11.30 am.

Devon Learning and Development Partnership

The Devon Learning and Development Partnership was formed in April 2009 and brings together eleven Devon County Council services. The purpose of LDP is to work with others to improve outcomes for young people.

LDP comprises: Devon Discovery, Devon Education Services (including Governor Support), Devon Learning Resources, Devon Music Service, Educational Psychology Service, Education Welfare Service, English as an Additional Language Service, Gypsy, Roma and Traveller Achievement, Inclusion, Reintegration and Education other than at School, School Library Service, Support and Advisory Teacher Service.

The Governors of this well established school invite applications from enthusiastic candidates for the post of Acting Headteacher for Autumn term 2009. The situation has arisen due to the retirement of the current head. Experience of working in a primary school at senior management level is essential and the successful candidate is likely to be a deputy head teacher who has good understanding of key stage 2 and special needs.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate that they have the ability to lead a team and have a good working knowledge and understanding of school administration. The ability to communicate with children, parents and other agencies is vital.
